1201 Westheimer Road
Historic name: Tower Theater
Recently: El Real
Completed: 1936
Architect: W. Scott Dunne (Dallas)

The Tower's grand opening was on Valentine's Day 1936. The theater's interior has been gutted, but its façade was rehabilitated in 2010 after the marquee was damaged in Hurricane Ike. A Tex-Mex restaurant now occupies the former auditorium space.
