Houston Deco: Houston's Modernistic Architecture
1007 Main St.
demolished
Completed: 1933
Demolished: 1959

The Hollywood Grill was located across Main Street from Houston's two largest movie theaters: the Metropolitan and Loew's State. In the historic photo, the reflection of the Loew's State marquee can be seen in the restaurant's Vitrolite façade. The Hollywood Grill was very short-lived; the Blackstone Grill occupied the building in 1934, followed by the Ship Ahoy Seafood Restaurant in 1935.
